Nice work!!

Excellent template. I hate when people go to job interviews with resumes of 3 & 4 pages!!! Thanks for sharing it with the community. Simon, la mexicana

Very nice and clean resume

Very nice and clean resume template that could be adjusted for just about anything. Thanks for sharing this, as it will come in very handy. I never realized what the difference between a resume and CV was either! dress up games

Hi, am new here and would really like to download the 'Basic Resume' from Bruce. however, when I click on "save it" it goes to a new screen which is split vertically between two seperate documents. the one at the upper half of the screen is the template itself, but I can only scroll it down without much effect on the the lower half which contains a blank screen which I cannot eliminate. When I click on "file" then the save and the save as columns are greyed out. What am I doing wrong?

Click the 'use it' button,

Click the 'use it' button, then save file. Then you can double-click it to open it on your computer.

problems downloading templates

After I click on "Use It" I don't have the option to save the template. What am I doing wrong?

Hi there! I suggest right

Hi there! I suggest right clicking the use it button, then clicking "save link as" and from there you should be fine =) ~Bruce

Some things to add:

I have recently come to find out that different people want different things when referring to a CV, and it is rather confusing. So, it should be noted that it may mean the same thing as a resume, namely a single page document which gives a brief summary of past experience.

For entry level positions your resume should be one page.

After 4-6 years of work you will have a two page resume.

If anyone would like a review of their resume before they submit it, I would be happy to provide a second opinion. I'll do as many as I can. People who spot me a few bucks for my time tend to move to the top of the review list, though it isn't obligatory. My email address is within the template, you can reach me there if you have any questions for me.

Good luck!

A quick note...

As a former operations manager that performed all the HR functions in my area, I just want to confirm a couple of things for anyone looking... 1) Bruce makes an excellent point about objectives. I worked in the rental car industry and believe it or not, I would get resumes with the object of getting a position in the medical industry. I didn't even bother calling those. 2) If you have the experience, 2 pages is fine. However, do not go over 2 pages. HR reps and recruiters don't have time to read all the details, so if you go over 2 pages, you need to simplify!!
